| This little water pump works great. I attached a 1/4" plastic tube which raises the water about 14" inside of my water fountain (I'm sure it will raise the water higher then that). The attachments are are OK - I don't have to use them. It work only when it gets direct sunlight (no battery) that is what I like, I don't need to run the water after sunset. No on/off switch. |
works great!

| I plugged it together and immediately it went to work. The water spout goes as high as the suns intensity on the panel. It barely pumps in the morning and really gets going at noon, you can hear the difference during the day and evening as the water splashes. |

Best small solar pump

I was skeptical about another solar fountain pump, but this one is outstanding. We got it from Amazon and I was going to return it, but it has exceeded out expectations. Only recommendation: if it stops working, it may mean the water needs to be replaced and the pump cleared for a second or two in open air during this process. Then it's back to pumping away as usual.
It is small (6 v) but the panel really powers it well and can be moved to wherever the sun is shining. |
It does just what I expected.

| I live in Barbados so we pretty much have full sunshine all year. In direct sunlight I measured a jet height of 13" from each of the available heads. I was pleased it was able to do this even though I have the pump at the bottom of a pebble fountain, with 9" of tubing connecting the pump and the head. The solar panel needs to readjusted three times to make full use of the morning, midday and afternoon sunlight. As you would expect, if there are any clouds, or there is no direct sunlight, the preformance of the pump suffers. This is not a concern for me since it was intended to be a novelty water feature using renewable energy. I'm happy with this item. |

We use this pump to fill a large vase that then overflows with water and trickles down onto rocks below. Although our first pump did not work properly (a problem with the solar panel), a replacement was quickly shipped out to us. The replacement works great.
The force of water is not dramatic, so if you're looking for something large and awe-inspiring, this is not the pump you want. However, if you just need something simple, this is your best bet. Note that this is solar and direct sunlight runs it--simply having it in a lit area or outside on a cloudy day will not produce power to the pump. That said, having the solar panel directly facing the sun produces the most power... as the sun moves across the sky, the pump will continue to work, but at a visibly reduced level... to maintain a 28" height, you will likely need to adjust the solar panel throughout the day. |
Works great for a tiny pump - it does the job

This little pump did exactly what I needed it to do! It was small enough to use in my tabletop fountain and it did pump the water up 18" and works great in full sun. It is a bit expensive for the tiny little pump, but it works just fine and was just what I needed to convert an electric fountain to solar. My electric pump was very tiny as the water tray of the fountain needed a very small pump and this pump is extremely tiny, about 2" x 1". I just removed the electric pump, attached the existing 1/4" tubing to the solar pump, placed the solar panel where it would get full sun and it started to work great. It has to pump water up thru an 18" tall flamingo and out his mouth to some smaller water trays and it works perfectly. It does quit as soon as a cloud blocks the sun, but it works constantly and very well when the sun is out.
