| I have a small fish pond. With an adaptor, you can use the water from your pond for your flowers. Enough boost to have a small waterfall, too. |

| Bought the Sunterra Pump for my pond about a month ago. It is doing its job as advertised. Will have to see if it lasts longer than the previous pumps I have used. |
works great- but this pumps pre filter clogs up weekly

I have a large bio filter and the pond water looks quite clear, but the little pre filter on this pump clogs up each week.
I can notice a definite water flow reduction every week, very noticeable.
Then I have to unplug the pump, pull it out of the water and hose out that filter.
Kind of bothersome to have to do it so often...and it would probably burn the pump up if the water flow reduction isn't noticed in time.
The other brands of pumps that I have had w/ screens and pre filters only needed cleaned a couple times a year.
So I guess I'll have to look for one of those mesh bags that help catch some of the gunk...before it gets into the pump filter...
If I only knew I would have stayed with the other brands & style.

| My wife bought the Sunterra two pond kit for me two years ago from Costco. After I installed it, the pump froze up within 3 months. I had to run out and buy a pump from Lowe's to keep the fish alive. A call to Sunterra got me a replacement pump which did the same thing 4 months later. A second call to them resulted in another replacement pump which quit working after about a year. Their pumps are garbage made in China. Go figure! The pump I bought as an emergency answer from Lowe's is still working after more than two years. The Sunterra rep told me that they were changing pump manufacturers but never offered a third replacement. |

Item Description |

The pump is at the heart of a water garden. Without it, water will not circulate to create a healthy and balanced ecosystem. Sunterra pumps circulate water to help prevent breeding conditions for unwanted insects while oxygenating it for plants and fish. Pumps are distinguished by the gallons per hour they produce at one foot of lift or head. All Sunterra pumps are submersible and must be placed in water to function properly. Magnetic Pumps run by electrically charged magnet that causes the impeller to spin and circulate water through the pump. Magnetic drive pumps are environmentally safe, have no coolants and use less energy than direct drive pumps. They have a built in pre-filter and therefore can be used in clean or dirty water applications such as a fountain or pond. This Sunterra Pond Pump has a built in pre-filter to aid inthe water filtration process. Sunterra pumps are 100% water tested, have a 25 foot power cord and a two year limited warranty. This pond pump is 850 gallons per hour and has a 16.4 foot maximum lift.
