Works like a charm!   Date Of Review: February 13, 2010 Reviewed by: Royalblues, California, USA Excellent product. It's been working like a charm, winter and summer long. I use it for my waterfall pond, more than plenty power to pump water from 10 feet below. I have yet to use the accessories for fountains, but I'm sure it would have enough power to shoot it up in the air. Easy to assemble, maintenance is a breeze, has a convenient place for cleaning the filter. So far so good. I would buy it again. FIND ANOTHER BRAND   Date Of Review: December 29, 2008 Reviewed by: K. Turner, Midwest I have purchased four of these pumps over the past 5 years. Luckily they have two year warranties with them, because you will need it. The first two ran for about 4 months, then would randomly turn off and on until they quit altogether. I was promptly sent two replacements, which lasted the rest of the summer, then quit for no reason in early December. Sunterra sent me two more, and they lasted until about July of the next summer, then they broke. The impellers will just disintegrate after a while. I inquired about replacements, and they told me my warranty was expired. So I bought two more, hoping to not have the same issues. These were the same model number, but a different, newer style. Guess what? They worked for a short time, then the impellers broke on them too. Keep in mind, my pond is crystal clear and has no debris to impede the flow of water. These just break for no reason. I wrote Sunterra an email, and they sent me two replacements. I just opened them and they were both broken before I even got a chance to use them. I have since contacted them for replacements for my replacements, but after this warranty is over, I will never buy another Sunterra pump again.

The pump is at the heart of a water garden. Without it, water will not circulate to create a healthy and balanced ecosystem. Sunterra pumps circulate water to help prevent breeding conditions for unwanted insects while oxygenating it for plants and fish. Pumps are distinguished by the gallons per hour they produce at one foot of lift or head. All Sunterra pumps are submersible and must be placed in water to function properly. Direct Drive pumps are more powerful and provide higher GPH output than magnetic drive pumps. These pumps are energy efficient, water cooled and use no oil. Direct Drive pumps are designed for use in dirty water applications where the possibility of water impurities is high. All Sunterra pumps are 100% water tested and have a 25 foot power cord. The pump is 2000 gallons per hour and has a maximum lift of 23 feet. This pump can handle a larger volume of water and can be used in large water garden applications and those containing waterfalls.
